I noticed Social Security & Birthday display too large in PriSeries 2025. Does not display entire entry.
It is possible to transfer customer information from the previous year to the next year, but not the other way around. Please make it possible to transfer the data in both directions.
As long as I have been using Lacerte, only the estimated tax payments that were not past due would be drafted from the taxpayer's account. Two days ago, I filed a taxpayer's return after the estimated payment deadline, and the first quarter estimated payments were drafted out of the taxpayer's account. There was no diagnostic or note from Lacerte that showed the change to the treatment of estimated tax payments. Is anyone else having this problem with Lacerte? After calling Lacerte, the representative told me that it would be part of a full update in the future, but this was only being experimented with certain users.
Having the first name and middle initial field as one input causes issues in a few places. It would be better if the program differentiated. For example I have had the following issues:With a client name like Mary Anne J. Smith it makes her name on state returns Mary A. Smith which is incorrect. My concern with taking the space out is twofold 1) does this create an issue with name control on the fed efile and 2) clients don't really like to see their name spelled incorrectly on their tax returns. I had a similar issue on a partnership return where I had a client with a name like D. Michael Scott and on the tax matters section it showed them as D. Scott.
NY and CA are already allowed to efile from the non resident module, why can't they allow all other states?
There is no entry on the program for Code R and there needs to be an override to accomplish this properly on the 1040, Schedule I, Part II line 16. Sandra Enman
Every year, I spend 8+ hours opening every individual account and deleting the efile check mark. I do this to empty the EF View list in efforts to keep track of the open files I am working on. (Mind you, though I have a punch list, one or two do get overlooked.) Does anyone have a work around or INTUIT, could you please make this an upload option???
The IRS requires quarterly estimated payments for foreign partners of U.S. partnerships on Form 8813, but Lacerte only generates an annual form. According to the IRS instructions for Form 8813, estimated payments are required and due on the 15th of the fourth, sixth, ninth, and twelfth months each year and that late payments may be assessed. Lacerte now insists that quarterly Forms 8813 should be manually prepared but for the price of this software, it should develop the capability to generate quarterly forms through the software amirite? See "Form 8813" and "Where To File" sections on Page 2, the "When To Make the Payment" section on Page 5, and the "Late Payment Of Tax: section on page 6 of the Form 8804, 8805, and 8813 Instructions.
