Viewing a document in Link

Allow a user option to open all documents in Link automatically to another window, instead of opening and then clicking the "open in another window" button  or allow for a preview without using the whole screen..

I believe this is a change-  I do not remember this in prior years.  When reviewing a return and looking at the source document in link - it grays out the entire return and all I see is the document. How is this effective for anything?  Maybe I am using it incorrectly, but being able to see document, but not being able to see the return at the same time is time consuming and a lot of extra work.
