Client with 2 jobs over-contributed to retirement plan(s).   When the excess was repaid back to her, the FMV had gone down so the amount paid to her was less than the excess distribution. Fidelity advised to report that difference as a LOSS under other income.  PTO won't allow a negative in that field. Is there another place to put it? Thanks! H Reiss

How do you allocate the taxable social security amount shown on the federal between 2 states? If I source it to US, the entire amount flows to both states.  If I source to one state, the entire amount goes to that one state and nothing to the other.  If I override the taxable amount and source it to one state, the federal return is now incorrect. Thanks in advance for any input.

How to file an individual tax return with Form 8858 and 8865 which are not available in ProConnect?

organizer worksheet?

I know client must file, household income is $240K, can't find where to enter that income.

My client received a 2022 Form 1099-MISC from Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation with $4,400 reported in Box 1 Rents. She said this was money the Cherokee Nation paid her for her brother to stay with her while the Cherokee Nation tore down his old house and built a new house. Can I report this income on Schedule E and select Other type of property by entering "HACN Rental Assistance" in the applicable field, and not making an entry in Number of days rented? Note that this generates a Suggestion "Schedule E #1: Number of days rented may be required for this rental real estate property.", not a Critical Diagnostic. This also generates a Federal StatementStatement 1Schedule E, Part I - (address of property)Other Type of Property Type of Property: HACN Rental Assistance Is this statement sufficient for the Instructions for Schedule E page E-6 to Attach a statement to your return describing the property?

My Client is saying that it will not let them eSign the form 114a. I know this form is for their records, but they were wanting to sign electronically as well. Is this the case or is there a workaround? Thanks

I have K-3 for 1120-S but do not see any input areas in 1040 module to enter this information. Has anyone dealt with this?Ron

Form 1040: Form 1040-X is included in this return. This return must be e-filed as an amended return. Please use E-file Amendment options in the File Return I am getting this error, already select e-file amended and don't know what to do

A Sch C 8829 Question regarding the limitation of 8829 expenses.  If I have $400 left of Sch C income before 8829 deductions, and $2,000 of 8829 expenses, its being limited to the $400 and C/F the remaining $1,600. However, this is the final year for this sch C business, and no further business income is anticipated. Can we bypass the income limitation for the CY and claim these deductions to increase the Sch C loss in the final year? Or are these carried forward indefinitely, being essentially lost forever?

I selected for federal estimates to be paid electronically - did not see same option for Georgia estimated taxes

I have a new client this year who is Schedule C LLC business.  He has a Qualified Business Loss carryforward.  Where does that get entered to bring my Tax Files Up to Date?
