Schedule 39 is calculating a $1B ($1,000,000,000) Allocation of Capital Deduction Calculation for a small business return. The $1B figure is subsequently showing up in the Related and Associated Corporations Summary. Is this a Profile glitch or am I doing something wrong?

Hi, Working on behalf of a company that uses ProFile. They stopped receiving autoupdates a while ago leaving them behind on tax information. They can however manually update without issue.They contacted ProFile support and had assistance. ProFile reported that this was an issue with an update and they sent a fix in April 2020. Client had Quebec income tax withheld at source line 451 of TP1. Revenu Quebec has denied this on their assessment as the client did not reside in Quebec as at December 31, 2019. The Quebec income tax withheld at source was not deducted on the T1 return. How does the client get a refund of the amount paid of Quebec income tax withheld at source? The individual at Revenu Quebec said they must apply to have it refunded through federal government however cannot tell me how to do this.

I have a client where there was 200 shares issued (100 x 2 owners at $0.50 cents a share ($50 ea.) for a total value of $100. One of owners sold their 100 shares privately to a new owner for $96,000. Should the share value in the company now be $96,050 even though the company did not receive any of the $96,000? I'm assuming the other side would be posted to SHL. Is this the proper treatment of the transaction or is there a better way to book this?

I could not figure out how to filter the database to show the clients that have filed their 2018 taxes with us but not come for their 2019.

When carrying forward a T2 from TaxPrep to Profile, we receive an error message that reads "Index was outside the bounds of the array". Anyone know how to fix this?

After updating to the draft 2020.0.0 version i tried to carryforward 2019 file to test a scenario knowing it would be a draft .   This version 2020.0.0 does not offer carry forward of 2019 tax file.  It only offers 2018 directory?    It only offers  .18T at the file type box even though i can locate the data directory for 2019Returns I run Profile20 T1.   Thanks for any solution or do i have to wait for another update?

I have about 37GB of log files in AppData/Roaming/Profile/Logs and was wondering if I can safely delete some or all of them.  Files sizes range from 100kb to 250MB.  Dates range from 2015 to today.

Is there a way so that when I open a return in profile I can get the "notes" page to always open first? 

Trying to help my dad file his taxes using Profile.  It is a spousal return and I can't change any of the checkboxes in the Info page.  It seems to be locked for some reason.   Example the question Are you claiming the disability tax credit.  It is checked for my dad but wrongfully checked for my mom and I can't change it.   It is a licensed copy.

On the RAC Details form we can see that the companies included are all linked.The sync button is greyed out and we are not able to select it to sync the data.

Hello, In our office, we have multiple workstations (with Profile installed in every workstation), and all the files/returns are stored on a LAN, and every workstation is mapped to this network drive. With Covid, we plan to store all the files/returns off-site (e.g. https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/pricing/), this would enable remote access & client-server set up. Please keep in mind that even with this set up, Profile will be installed in every workstation. Our office and most users have internet speed: 25 down, 10 up. Questions, comments:1. Speed, performance issues (like latency)2. Comments, suggestions from people on above, especially people who have experience in this set up3. Any other solution to tackle remote access for multi-users 4. Does Intuit provides their own hosting/solution to tackle multi-users? Thanks.

Hi, We use options package, and like to know if the settings can be modified through a text editor OR any other method, instead of going into every setting. The final goal would be same, its just that the Profile settings GUI can be better, plus lots of time the settings are simply "find & replace", and would be easier & helpful to have a text editor (e.g. note-pad). Thanks.

I was contacted by a client who is over 71 questioning why it showed his 2020 RRSP Contribution Limit on the Client Letter when he is no longer able to contribute.  Is there anyway to remove this for clients who are over 71?
