Hi, If a client Elect under subsection 45 (3) to not have the deemed disposition provision of subsection 45 (1) apply “ in respect of a complete change in use of an Income -producing property to a principal residence, are we required to show all calculation of capital gain of the “ deemed to have disposed of the Property” and complete the Schedule 3 in his tax return of that year  OR just we need to submit a form of election 45 (3) and no need to prepare schedule 3 in that year’s tax return?I wonder, if in case, we are required to complete Schedule 3 of that "Deemed to have disposed of the Property” how the tax on capital gain will be differed and stopped not to be included in the total income of that year’s tax return as I do not see any available option in “Profile” to request not to include the capital gain in the total income. I shall appreciate if someone guides me on this matter. Thanks.

Which amounts of income taxes withheld on the W-2 Tax Slip are to be reported on the T1 General Tax Return

When I go to print current form I select my printer and make sure the settings say that double-sided is checked but when I press print it comes out single-sided. I have looked at all settings and cannot get it to print double-sided. It seems to be a common theme in our office. There are a few of us that we can't seem to print double-sided and it involves 2 different printers. Is this simply a Profile glitch or are we doing something wrong?

We have a client that has not filed T2 returns since 2009.  Can we E-File these old returns?

Hi!I have 8 accountants, 1 bookkeeper and 1 receptionist all able to access Profile currently, does that mean I need the suite + 9 licenses when I renew? If the bookkeeper and reception don't prepare returns, do they need separate licenses if they're only PDFing returns? Thanks!

I have had more problems with ADOBE e-signature this year than ever before.   I have 2 problems.#1   When I initiate the e-signature for a client it's supposed to start creating the envelope but quite frequently it does nothing and comes back to the profile screen. Then I have to close the current client and close profile and reload it and then it works for the time being until the next time it decides not to work.#2 For most of the tax season I was constantly getting an “access violation” message.  For a while it could be bypassed by taking down profile and reloading it. But after doing that for a few weeks, it then started giving an “access violation” every time and I could not send any e-signature requests out to the clients. As suggested on this website, I went through the long process of a "clean uninstall" but that did not clear the problem.  I finally found some time to call PROFILE support.  They helped me set myself up as an administrator bot

Client is living in 2/3 of house and is renting out a separate apartment (1/3 of house).  I assume that she will be subject to capital gains tax on the 1/3 when she sells.  However, she also rents out the 2/3 for 6 months each year when she goes south for the winter.  I see 3 options.  She could file a T2091 every time she moves out and then be subject to capital gains for the 6 months she was away.  She could make an election under 45(2) for the 2/3 every time she moves out.  She could not file anything and assume that the 2/3 continues to be her principal residence even when she is away since she hasn't really moved out to new home.  Any opinions?

I have an elderly Canadian client who has German pension income and Austrian pension income. I am not sure how to report on Foreign Income form; as pension income under a tax treaty (non taxable) or as other pension income (taxable) and/or exempt portion? Help appreciated!

No text available

A client moved to Mexico at the end of October last year.  Before he moved, he sold his principle residence and the T2091 will be filled out for this. He had very little income last year.  As far as I know, he has maintained his bank accounts and health insurance in Canada.  He is renting in Mexico.  I believe that he will be receiving pension benefits from his employer sponsored pension plan, as he is not old enough for CPP or OAS.  He has no spouse and his children are adults.  He informed me that he would be returning to Canada just enough to maintain his health insurance. Is he still a resident of Canada for tax purposes?  What questions do I need to ask him?  Should he be considered an emigrant? Do I need to fill out a T1243?  Any information that you can provice would be appreciated.
