ProConnect Tax

I don't see an option to overwrite the automatically calculated value in the ProConnect planner.

Is there a link to blank paper organizers for 2021? In the past, paper organizers have been available for those of us who have clients that prefer a paper organizer over electronic.

New to ProConnect Tax. Do I need to save my client returns before returning to them the next day? James F

I'm pretty sure the answer is "no" but just in case, is there a way to edit the "Clients" screen to change the default sorting of client names?Proconnect automatically sorts individual clients by their first names but then presents them as last name, first name. This offends my sensibilities enough to post about it on here, so that's something.

I have a dissolved S corporation for 2019 and need to  have depreciation recaptured and reported as ordinary income for the assets that were transferred to the shareholders.  I am not able to see this how to do this using ProConnect.  All help is appreciated.  The only article I have been able to find was for Lacerte

I'm using the tax planning tool to estimate capital gains that could be harvested at a 0% rate.Given the relaxed rules around EIC for 2021 my clients would qualify - retired, 66 and 70 years old, no qualifying children, less than $10,000 investment income, about $10,000 of earned income.$3,409 EIC looks funny to me - for 2021, the max EIC with no children is $1,502 so whether the $1,502 is per return or per person (1,502 x 2 = 3,004) how could the answer be $3,409?I would like to confidently advise my client to harvest some capital gains at the 0% rate (less than $10,000 per EIC limits) but I am concerned the software may not be calculating things correctly.  What do you think?

I have a client that is the sole shareholder of an S-Corp.  He recently purchased land and buildings to be used for his business.  The bank put the loan in the name of his S-Corp but filed the deed in his individual name.  Is the interest on the loan and building assets still an expense of the S-Corp if the deed to the property is in the individual's name?

In Proconnect, I would like to know which of my clients filed Schedule C in 2020.  I have a general idea, but instead of opening each client individually, I would like to just have a list.  I know this was an option for Lacerte users.

Hello All,Happy Holidays to you all. I have to make a change to a 2020 1099-NEC,  made 2 1099s one for Tim one for Timothy but were essentially the same person and 1099 amount. Anyhow, the 1096 says DO NOT use the Copy A available via the website if mailing in any corrections. So how would one ascertain these forms if not via the website? Please see the direct links above indicating such. That's also the same for the 1099 Copy A Red Form, it says DO NOT use this copy etc.  I have ordered the 2021 forms from the IRS both 1099-NEC and 1096 but these are for 2021, how would one order these forms for 2020?Thanks again for all your help and any insight! https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1096.pdfhttps://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099nec_20.pdf

My client has a federal credit union. The routing # starts with 263. I keep getting this error: The routing transit number (RTN) for the electronic deposit of refund is invalid. The RTN should be nine characters long and must start with 01 thru 12 or 21 thru 32. RTNs are validated against a check digit, which is the ninth digit of the RTN. If the computed check digit does not match the check digit input, the electronic deposit cannot be directly credited.   Has anyone seen this before and how can I fix it?

Hi everyone, Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving. I need some helps and guidance and hope someone can help me out. Here is the story. My client set up a company because people advice her to, but she wasn't clear about whether it is an S corp or C corp when I talked to her. So later I found out it is an C corp when i prepared her 2020 return, and she is the sole owner and the only member of the C corp. However, her 2019 return (initial return) was filed using S corp form 1120-S.  Now she received a letter from IRS saying that her 2019 return cannot be processed, because it doesn't match. Now i need to refile a 2019 return for her using the correct form. so i have following questions need help with..1. so it is a basically new filing, not amending the 1120-S from 2019, since the form and entity type will be totally different. Will it count as a late filing? the IRS agent said I can attached the letter, and it should help to clarify.2. since 2019 was filing under S-Corp,
