Lacerte Rights TemplatesNew

Lacerte should create rights templates in addition to the Default Rights that can be applied to users, such as for managers and partners. It would also be beneficial to be able to apply the same rights across all modules, not just delete the user from all modules. Changing rights to a group of people who need more than the default rights across 9 tax types is very cumbersome.

Need to be able to support K-3 suppression as not all partners or shareholders may need/want a K-3 when at least one entity or individual might require it. This will also help with requests that may come in before the "one-month" date.

I waste a number of "clicks" because when I move from forms to detail or diagnostics, the zoom changes.  I prefer the "zoom to normal"  sometimes it changes it to the full page, sometimes it keeps it, sometimes it changes it to the "thumbprint" . It would be nice to be able to save the "view"/"zoom" that is your preference.

CA Form 3509New

Please add this form to Lacerte.  It has been a requirement that if Box J Form 1099 is checked that Form 3509 must be attached to the Form 199.  This is similar to Schedule C Form 990.  We have requested many times that Lacerte include this Form so that we don't need to file a paper tax return and request a waiver for e-filing from CA for our clients.  It would save time to add this Form.  It's a simple one page Form.  Thank you for your consideration.

Option for two individuals to sign into one Intuit Link accountDiscussion ongoing

It's very awkward for many married couples that only one user ID is allowed.  Intuit Link accounts need to have the option to add in additional user ID.  This would allow either spouse to add information to the organizer, and lessen the frustration I hear from my clients.

Three things:1. The state and city populates with zip code on individual client and W-2 data only. Make it the standard for ANY field where an address is used including Schedule C, Schedule E, Form 2441 provider, Form 8283 etc. and also corporate and partnership modules.2. Where social security wages (box 3) are input for a tipped employee and social security (box 4) automatically adjust, have social security in box 4 readjust with an entry to social security tips (box 7) rather than require manual adjustment.3. When trades are downloaded from excel to Schedule D, have a pull-down option for the wash sale adjustment. Currently it must be entered manually.

There is a box we check every year to proforma all past invoice amounts in all modules.  The program does not proforma these amounts in the S corporation, fiduciary and partnership modules.  The program has been doing this in the individual module for quite a while so why after all these years have you not made this active for the other modules?

We would like to set up a reminder email to clients who elected to make electronic estimated payments and would like to pull the list of clients either by export to .csv file or through the database reports function.  It is my understanding that the indicator checkbox found on screen 3 is not an accessible field.  If this field could be made accessible, then the report could be pulled via Lacerte and a separate spreadsheet would not need to be maintained to send the emails.

You can put it in the column currently reserved for the pointless box 3 Non-dividend distribution box and move THAT to the Dividend Income worksheet.  1099A dividends are quite common.

Regarding the automatic backups that are being created - please consider running these when we are not trying to prepare tax returns.  In our office, the 2021 program would run the backup routine at roughly 9:10 am every day.  Our server resources would be totally consumed and our ability to work in Lacerte would come to a halt for several minutes.  The 2022 program is kicking off the backup routine between 9 am and 1 pm local time, setting us up for a repeat this year.  It's a problem when we are already on a tight schedule with client appointments to have the system essentially "freeze".

Please insure that Accountant's Trial Balance (ATB) software links into ProSeries 2022, and beyond. This feature allows for business trial balances to be seamlessly imported into business tax returns. Adjustments are automatically updated in the tax return. It saves me an amazing amount of time, especially since the links carry forward every year.  While ATB is an older software no longer supported, it still works as good as ever.  Without this link with ATB, I won't be able to prepare anywhere near the number of returns I have been preparing annually.
