EFILING CA S CORPORATION RETURN

Hi,

My electronic submission of CA S Corporation return was rejected.  CA wants "APPLD FOR" instead of "APPLIED FOR" for CA Corp. No. when there is none.  ProSeries will only allow me to electronically submit the return if "APPLIED FOR" is entered.  There is no Override.  Any ideas?

Put what CA wants, then when you go to Convert the file for EFiling uncheck the  Error checking box...this should bypass the EF error and allow the return to be filed

Hi,

I was excited to receive your quick response.  It certainly seemed like a good idea.  However, it didn't work.  Even though I unchecked the Error Checking box, the system wouldn't convert the file.  Thanks for trying.  It was appreciated.

Sorry, I thought maybe that would let it be Efiled.  I guess you're stuck paper filing, at least its not a return waiting for a refund!

Nevermind, @JaguarPaw. I don't think the repair update will help for now. There was something similar earlier this year but for other states.

You may need to contact support so we can take a second look at CA. Here's how to contact us and how to send a sanitized file for review.

Gabi,

I downloaded and ran the Update fix.  There was definitely a problem there, as I opened the floodgates which let updates be downloaded.  But, as you subsequently noted, that did not fix the problem.  In looking at the error message, I saw that "Other Reason" could be inserted in stead of "Applied For" or the number itself.  Everything worked once I did that.  Of course, I have no idea what other reason I might have, but I would have put "Elephant" in that space if that had made it work.
