Lacerte Ref. Code 305 Invalid ITIN
I have a taxpayer who was issued an ITIN in 2026. Lacerte does not recognize it as a valid ITIN. This is because the ITIN Group numbers are 61, and according to Lacerte’s help feature, the “ITIN "Group" (the second two number's) is 70 through 88, 90 through 92, and 94 or above.”
I have received a copy of the form CP565 so the ITIN appears as valid and appropriately issued by the IRS. Is this a Lacerte issue? How can this be resolved.
Please note we are trying to file a late form 1040-NR for 2023. I have run all Lacerte software updates and this has not resolved this diagnostic.
