Filing NYS-IT-205 final form, the NYS Fiduciary Information Worksheet, has the error - "too many charactersin the  Estate or Trust Field." I cannot over-ride it and can't efile with this error. What to do?

Maryland 502 now (new) rejecting e-filing if (a) MD K-1 address doesn’t match [ugh, people do move] and (b) this is one I need help with - decoupling modification from K-1’s is a negative number (a MD subtraction). Reject now says it cannot be negative, but half the time it is. Tried overriding. Tried removing the 500DM form and putting it elsewhere. No luck. Now at the last minute how am I to get around this (besides mailing it in) when this is a subtraction modification.

I recently submitted two 1040’s that included an 8824 with substantial overrides one was a multi asset exchange and the other was a multi property exchange. The multi asset exchange bounced from the IRS because Pro Series was apparently not including the 8824 in the payload to the IRS. Now I am concerned that my other return may not have had the 8824 included with the payload even though it was accepted. Has anyone had experience with this. Specifically is it possible for proseries to confirm what was sent. When I call support they just tell me if it prints in print preview then it is included in what was sent but I am very skeptical.  Thanks for any help!

NYS is taking longer, the IRS tool 2 weeks

I’ve found a way to mass email my clients the checklist.   Ive been lazy and never deleted ‘old” W-2s (those that may have been used 2 or more years ago but not last year). Is there a way to mass delete these “old W-2s”? TY

Hi,I have an Individual return with a 2021 and 2022 NOL carryover to 2025  and Lacerte calculation for the NOL deduction and carryover is incorrect . I manually enter 80% X 2025 taxable income before the NOL in screen 15. The amount I enter appears correctly on Schedule 1 and Form 172, but the amounts on the Federal statement and on the NOL Worksheet are incorrect. It shows  the wrong amounts of NOL absorbed and NOL carryover. So in screen 15 the data fields,  I write a note to be printed with the return. At least my clients and myself will have record of it, plus the spreadsheet on file to support it all. I have contacted Lacerte support but no solution so far.Has anyone got lucky getting help with this?

Why would efile be rejected due to estimates in the What If worksheet.  Just more Proseries stupidity.

I can't get proconnect to product AZ sch msp

Working with 1120, I have to do a stolen asset on form 4684, does the program transfer to 4797 in Pro Series  Tax Professional?

I'm amending the 2022 1040, which needs to be paper filed. The December 2025 Instructions for Form 1040-X include the following new requirement:New attachment requirement. For paper-filed Forms 1040-X, you must attach, to your completed Form 1040-X, a completed and updated Form 1040 (emphasis added), 1040-SR, or 1040-NR, with your changes. See Assembling Your Return, later.Previously, the instructions generally required attaching only the changed forms and schedules.I want to make sure I'm interpreting this correctly: Does this mean that we must now attach a complete, updated Form 1040 to a paper-filed Form 1040-X? If so, does the taxpayer need to sign and date the attached Form 1040 in addition to signing Form 1040-X, or is the signature on Form 1040-X sufficient?

I’ve entered the premium information on F 1095-A and the shared allocation between the H & W. F 8962 shows half the APTC on line 25 but no excess repayment on line 27 or anything on lines 28 or 29. The household income is 306% of the poverty line. The 2024 program calculated the excess repayment correctly. I have entered everything required and have tried both ways on the Relief Indicator Smart Wks A - I checked the No box and I tried without checking either box.How do I get F 8962 to calculate the correct excess repayment amount? PS doesn’t allow any overrides to lines 25 - 29.

I am trying to map from QBO to ProConnect but am not finding a line for Retained Earnings to map to?

Does anyone use the accelerated tasks feature?Seems crippled at this time. Thanks, Christopher

got an error saying when trying to transfer 2024 returns data“Error occurredAn error occurred. Could not create return.”This client has multi year and multi state of carryover, the entire reason of sticking to 1 software is that we don’t have to enter all of those again.   How do I fix it?I tried incognito, login/log out, copying another 2024 returns and transfer it that way, nothing worked.

Client is single, health insurance from ACA marketplace, has SE income that causes his 8962 annual contribution amount to be slightly more than the SLCSP causing repayment of 100% of APTC.The APTC repayment amount is not being added to SE health insurance premium deduction at Sch 1 line 17.At 8962:7,595 (a) annual premiums0         (e)  PTC allowed-5,868 (f) APTC received=1,727   difference is amount client paid out of pocket throughout the year+5,868 APTC repayment=7,595 amount client has paid for SE health  should flow to Sch 1, line 17 SE health deduction The 1,727 is flowing to  Sch 1, line 17 SE health deduction.  Am I wrong?  I can enter the 5,868 at adjustment to income - premiums not entered elsewhere. This gets SE health to the correct amount, which lowers AGI which flows to the 8962 which causes a $382 allowed PTC - circular relationship. What is the correct way to handle this? Thanks in advance.

I understand that Intuit Sign will replace the existing DocuSign-powered eSignature service in Lacerte beginning in tax year 2026.I'm developing practice management software for CPA firms and would like to explore integrating Intuit Sign directly into our platform. Will Intuit Sign offer a public API that allows third-party applications to initiate signature requests, upload documents, track signature status, and retrieve completed documents? If an API is planned, is there a developer program, documentation, or anticipated release date available?I'd appreciate being directed to the appropriate Intuit Sign product or development team for further information.

I authorized a client's 2025 pay per return in order to file an extension prior to completing their 2024 tax return.  Now that their 2024 tax return is completed, how can I transfer their updated 2024 tax file to 2025 without having to create a new 2025 file and incurring a duplicate authorization charge?

Why did the cost to efile a 2025 increase mid year?

Weird font letters are now showing on form 8879 and few other forms.  How do I get rid of them? The letter ‘G’ is before signature lines. Thanks,Marylou

How to remove the check mark in proconnect on this point- Check if any excepted specified foreign financial assets are reported on this form

Michigan efiling rejection. I efiled a MI-1040 today. It came back rejected due to an error on form MI-1040H, this is the apportionment schedule. The error states Line 11 must equal Line 10 multiplied by the percentage on Line 8. It does do this! Line 8 and Line 11 are calculated by the software, only line 10 is a data field. If I try overriding Line 8 or Line 11 I get a processing error but I'm not sure what I would change the math is correct on the form. Error message wants me to mail, just checking to see if anyone else has had this error and found a workaround to mailing. Thanks!

Why does accounts that were paid last week and show paid in reports the next week can show not paid and check that was printing is not in check run?
