Would an 18yo qualify for stimulus check if she files a tax return and wasn't being claimed as dependent? My guess is no, because she is a 'qualifying child', but they're choosing not to claim her.

Why not claim her? Is it because they think she would qualify for the $1,200? If she is a qualifying child of the taxpayer, even if they choose not to claim her, she cannot claim herself which disqualifies the 18 year for the purpose of the stim check.
