Why is the program calculating the contribution deduction from income when I am itemizing

Sounds like your itemized deductions are lower than the standard, so its giving you the standard with the extra charitable deduction.

Itemized is $14,050 and stand is $12,400.  Can't be that!

Are they 65 or older? Their standard would be 14,050, thats what youre seeing....look at the bottom of the Sch A, is that 14050 as well?

If so, they actually do better with the standard and the charitable deduction, than itemized.
