Why does the release date 1040x keep getting pushed back? Now it is Feb 28th!!! IRS has already released the final form.

Is always late in February that it becomes available....they don't want anyone sending in amended returns before the original has finished processing.

Also, it takes a month or more to even open the envelope on an amended return, returns efiled late January/early February have already processed.

You can print a clean copy from the IRS website and fil it in with the figures from the program if you're in that big of a rush.
