When trying to e-file a Sub S return, I get a error message saying "Return is Selected. Please complete the extension for the return first. If the extension has been completed, open the return navigate to State/City and save the return".

Did you efile the extension and pull the acknowledgement for the extension?  Sounds like it thinks that step hasn't been completed.

Yes, both extensions for federal and state show as being accepted.

Maybe do the Update Acknowledgements Status for this return, see if that eliminates the error.

If it doesn't then I'd uncheck the efile extension box on the SCorp Info Worksheet

And be sure to open the state return after doing either of the above steps.
