This is my first time doing a shared allocation of the health care premium. I use Proseries tax. Client has 4 people on the 1095-A. Two of the people listed are children who are no longer dependents. On the 1095-A data entry screen, I need to enter the shared policy allocation information in the smart worksheet. There is space in the smart worksheet to enter one of the persons sharing, but not both. However, when I go over to Form 8962 there is a space for 4 policy allocations, but I can't enter data there it refers me back to the 1095-A where these is only room for one person. How can I enter two persons who share the allocation? Thank you for any help.

First, was there Advance Credit (column C of the 1095-A)? If not, the rules change.
Pick one. It doesn't matter which.

Yes, there were amounts in column C. I just can't get two people entered into the shared allocation area on the 1095-A so it will carry over to the 8962
As I said, pick one. If you read the link I gave, it shows you only need to pick one.
Try a blank 1095 to allocate the other taxpayer to see if they tranfer to 8962? I am just trying to see if it works.
Thank you for your reply.
OK, I get it now -- thought you were saying to pick one of the allocation examples, but you were saying to just pick one of the non-dependent people's data. Thank you.
The IRS wants Part IV completed for everyone who was covered and their %. The 8962 doesn't allow me to enter more than one. If I try adding another blank 1095A it gives me an error message that it's the same policy number. So what's the real solution.

In most cases, you don't need to enter more than one.
