Is ProSeries sending efiled returns to the IRS and states today, 12/31? Returns have been received by Intuit but not yet forwarded to agencies. Returns are due today. Thank you.

No. The IRS has shutdown e-filing until January.

Got it. Thank you, very helpful. Will the electronic postmark of Intuit's receipt today be considered the date filed such that the returns will be timely filed even though the IRS system is shut down until January?

Thanks. Will paper file.

If your client will be filing on paper, you need to make sure Intuit can and will take the returns off the queue for submission. Otherwise, your clients will run into problems with duplicate filing and that's headache you want to avoid, especially when things are not quite in order wherever you look.
