Partnership error

Hi,

I am working on a partnership return in ProSeries.  I have an error on the information worksheet.  I checked Fed Form 1065 Original Return for electronic filing.  I am getting an error that says, "This submission contains a form or schedule which MeF is not accepting as a binary attachment.  Please verify whether it is valid for your submission to include the form or schedule. If valid, complete the form or schedule in the program."

Any clue where to even start with this?  I don't have anything in this return that hasn't been there in prior years.

Thank you.

Nancy,  I would scrutinize the information worksheet and then all of the forms and schedules listed on the left hand side of the screen to see if something was accidentally checked that shouldn't have been.

Thank you.

The only thing that is different is the Sec 199A worksheet by activity.  I actually didn't add it because none of these partners are claiming that.  The program added these this year.  But none of those have any errors on them.  And why would the program add that if it's going to cause the return to not be eligible for efile?

Also, the program hangs up on the diagnostic review.  Not sure if that has something to do with it.  There are no other errors showing though.

You're welcome. Someone just started another thread with a similar type of error that you have. Maybe there is an error in the system that will be corrected by an update? If you can't correct the error then I would wait for a few days to see.

I don't see that new post.  Do you remember the title?

Thanks.  Seems like just a general attachment problem.  Started a new thread about that.

Please take the following steps to review the PDF files you have attached to the return.

1. Select "E-File" - > "Attch PDF Files..." to open the "ProSeries Attach PDF Files" window;
2. Review the "Form/Schedule and Description" entered. If you have attached the PDF with "Other" as the "Type" , then the text " Form" and/or "Schedule" can not be used in "Form/Schedule and Description" column;
3. Please remove and re-attach the PDF files with the proper description. If you have problem remove the PDF file, you may "Save as" the return to clear all of the attachments and re-attach the necessary ones.

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  That fixed it.  The return transmitted to Intuit without issue!!!!!

This does not work for the 3800 error unfortunately.  I have read that this is a bug in the program and will just need to wait for an update.

That is correct.  I believe they said that would be corrected with the next update.
