Is Link used primarily as a means to obtain clients data? Or can these documents be imported into the tax return?

You can use Intuit Link as your basic client portal to collect and collate data and documents but Tax Import is a separate product you will need to purchase, AFAIK.

This is where PTO excels, in the sense that the tax import function, at least from Intuit Link, is fully integrated without additional charge.
