To add some color, anything in the 1600 range is a Microsoft Installer error, which is technology that our installer depends on. 1618 indicates MSI thinks another MSI installer is running.
Hopefully a restart fixes it. Unfortunately it might not - there might be some operating system level issues. Are you getting that error before the License Agreement Page or towards the very end of the installation after you've gone through selecting all the install options?
