Identity Verification Worksheet Problem

Head of Household TP who was transferred from ProSeries Professional 1040 2017.  The Drivers License Data was transferred to 2018 software as "State Identification Card Detail" rather than "Drivers License Detail".  In addition, the checkbox to confirm the correct information causes the "State Identificatio" fields to go BLANK.  Is this a correct result of checking the box? If I re-enter the Drivers License detail, it disappears.  Seems like a "Defect" in the program.  Just trying to figure out what to expect.

I just checked one of my head of households and the driver's license info transferred correctly. I have no idea why it would disappear when to you check the box to confirm.

I had that happen last year with the state ID vs drivers lic, it kept deleting one of them.  It doesn't like it when numbers are entered in both boxes.  I remember just removing all numbers from the form and unchecking all boxes, then start over from scratch.

Last year the Virginia driver license always vanished if I checked the wrong box above (license versus ID card) and I could never fix it or re-do. So I efiled As Is. Had no choice. Some of my elderly clients could not find their ID cards, their daughter asked if I could put down their ID, just so I could efile. Thoughts?

Is the ID required for the state you're filing?  IRS doesn't require it yet, its just some states.
