I just completed an individual tax return

I have one "green" error labeled a tag error.

I tried fixing but was unsuccessful. How do I fix it.

Thanks,

Jack

Go into Tools > Preparer Information and be sure that PTIN Verification box is checked.

Its been throwing oddball errors for people.

A quick question.

A client wants to electronically file and pay by check. How do I do that.

Thanks,

Jack

check No on the federal information worksheet about having direct debit. 1040-V should print out with the return.

Jim,

Thanks but I'm still confused.

Here's what I did:

The client owes money on his Federal and State Returns.

He doesn't want to use the electronic fund withdrawal option but wants to send a check.

I went to Part VI and checked the box : file federal returns electronically. I also checked the box file state return electronically.

I then went to Part IX and checked no "to use electronically withdraw for federal balance due"

I could not find the direct debit box on the federal information worksheet.

Maybe you can see what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,

Jack

  • Fed info worksheet. part IX, check No on top question
  • does a 1040-V populate.
  • are there any errors left?

When I hit no - nothing happens until I go down to "other direct debit" and it quick zooms to Form 9465. My federal final review does show five errors.

No. One time check for what he owes

Delete the 9465

Thanks

in Turbo Tax when you file you select “pay by check” when asked how to pay.

Is there a similar process in Pro Series

I can’t seem to find it.

Thanks again
