how do I remove dormant names from the client e-file list.

You have 2 options. 

1.  Go into a regular Homebase View and Delete the client.

2.  Open each "dormant" client and uncheck the EF boxes on the federal information worksheet...be sure to switch over to the state return before saving/exiting so that both fed and state disappear from the EFCenter.
