Amended Return

When I try to amend a return and cheek the box for amended return I am being told that the original return

was not accepted, when in fact it was.

You have to use the original file that was accepted and make sure its got the same file name,  not a copy of it or a different file name.

The instructions for efiling 1040x need to be followed pretty close in order to work. Here is a link:

I didnt do anything different than I normally do for an amended return...its the making a copy of the original that seems to throw a wrench in it for people.
