Virginia Form 770 electronic payment

I would like to make electronic payment when I efile the (late) return, but software does not allow me to put in a date. It was due June 1. It won't allow today's date for payment nor June 1. Is it OK to leave the date blank, and hope the funds will be withdrawn when processed? Or best to send a check by mail?

VA will debit out the payment as soon as they receive the tax return.  Try putting tomorrow's date or even the next.

    I've tried several dates for electronic w/d, but the software makes it glow red (a la error) so I can't efile it.
