Student Loan Forgiveness/Forebearance

If someone has had their student loans placed in the forgiveness program, that is deferring her loans, does any of her income become exempt. she has very little earned, but 15k unemployment benefits and she did not take any taxes out. I am waiting for her to send me the paperwork on the student loan program. I thought I read that some income would be exempt.

this is not my full time profession. I am actually a social worker in a nursing home, so I am trying to learn, but it has kept me busy the past few years.

Thank you for all your help
