payment due may 17 2021 error on 1040

I changed the payment due may 17 2021 and it comes up as an error on 1040. I have updated the program this morning (3/23). I thought I read both returns and payment due are extended to 5/17.

It comes up as an electronic filing error. Already searched community for issue but must be using wrong search terms.

IRS isnt ready to accept returns with direct debits past 4/15.

Did you miss the big yellow banner program alert about this the other day?

I did miss that alert from yesterday. I see it now. I wrongly assumed if they could make the unemployment correction, then they could change a due date. Thanks.

took IRS a few weeks last year when the date changed, maybe they'll get it fixed quicker this time around.

John if the error is not corrected, then it may be easier just to print the payment voucher and give the client a mailing envelope and have them mail the check... Just my opinion
