A client from NYS sent me their state id issued after January, 2014 but the 3 characters required for efiling cannot be located. Should I still efile this return?

What you are looking for is the first 3 characters of the Document Number. It is often a combination of numbers and letters. It could be on the front or back, and it may be preceded by IDUSA. This website might help you:
