Help - Filing Form 1040X in 2020 program

To amend a return I prepared in a prior year on ProSeries. I can do so in the year the error occured correct--as in 2019? and it will efile from that year properly?

Also, Error IND-689-01 it mentions it will not transmit with the wrong date next to the primary signature. But the signature field is not highlighted except for the preparer prior to transmit.

Do we attach a signed copy by the taxpayer prior to sending the Form 1040X?

1) Yes amend in the year the error occurred. Since 2019 is still open for efiling, yes you can efile the amendment.

2) Check the date on the Federal Information Worksheet - Part VI it must have a current date

3) No did not need to attach signed copy BUT do need a new 8879 signed
