Proseries is computing tax based on Form 3800 instead of 3803. Tax payer is 22 years old and is single and no one is claiming the tax payer as a dependent and tax payer is not dependent on anyone else tax return. How do you fix this problem. Thans.

Im not sure I understand why the 3800 (general business credit) is involved.

Or why there is a 3803 for a Single person that isn't a dependent

Can you delete those forms?

Are you saying it is applying the "Kiddie Tax" and you don't think it should be?

I don't know about California rules, but being a dependent has nothing to do if Kiddie Tax applies on the Federal return.

If that is not what you are asking, you need to clarify your question with as much detail as possible.

Isnt the 3803 is the parents election to report the child's interest and dividends, which makes not sense to be included on the return described above.
