Keep getting an error code when 3rd Party Designee is checked. asking for Preparers phone number because it's not transferring from Firm Information.

Yes, I tried that and other things with all your help LAST year and we were not able to resolve the issue. So I just unchecked the "Paid Preparer is 3rd party designee" Box. The error went away but I didn't have the 3rd party feature. It came up again this year so I'm unchecking it again, and at least the error goes away.

But I've got an additional problem this year. I've got an error code that reads "Firm code for preparer does not exist".  I tried everything to resolve that error with no luck. So I called the Intuit help line and talked to Cynthia for about 1/2 hour yesterday and she was very patient in trying a number of different ways to resolve it, most of which I already tried. The firm preparer code is 1 which is correct while the error code still says it doesnt exist. The 1 shows black and when I changed it to a 2 and the 2 turned red showing it really an error. Long story short, she suggested that when I try to transmit and it shows an error she says a box will come up to send anyway if I'm sure there is no error.

So I guess my question to you is: will this allow me to transmit starting the 26th, I never heard of this override? If not I'm out of business!

When you EFile from out in the EFCenter, it pops up a box the Convert and Transmit, down at the bottom of that window it has an option to Enable Error Checking...its checked by default, if you uncheck it, you can send a return with an error.  Im not sure if that same box is shown if you EF from within a return (I only ever EF from out in the EFCenter of Homebase.
