Thanks to all. Client status in 2019 was single and had earned income.

Her status in 2021 was married jointly. Client earned income for 2019 had been more than 2021.

Can I use 2019 earned income for EITC 2021?

Her husband had a wife in 2019 who been another person, not my client. Is it ok?

Yes, but use ONLY his income, not the income of the ex-wife.

Joint return means 2 peoples, so you would need to factor in both of their earned incomes into the calculation.

Thanks.

Client status in 2019 was single and had earned income.

Her status in 2021 was married jointly and her husband had no income in 2021.

Client earned income for 2019 when she was single had been more than 2021 when she was married.

My question is : since her status for 2019 and 2021 are different can I use client 2019 earned income for EITC 2021?

Yes, but if you use her 2019 Earned Income, you also need to use her husband's 2019 Earned Income.
