Efile a final 1120 return for current 2022

Hello, 

I have a client whose C Corp closed permanently on April 29, 2022. How do I process and Efile his 2022 tax return on form 1120 in Proseries Professional? The 2022 1120 form has not yet been released by the IRS.

Hi Bessy, not sure but I think client might have to mail that, after you print it out and change the year information and whatever else you have to change. Just my opinion.

    Yup.  Use the 2021 forms and get your Sharpie out to cross off 21 and write in 22 on the forms and then plop that little bugger in the mail once you are done.

      Keep it open thru winding down phase. Then file an extension and wait for the forms to be ready for Efile or paper file.

      We have to do this for Wisconsin because they Require the correct years of forms to be used.

      You could just wait and file it next year as a short year.
