e-file a amendment for a new client, original return was prepared and e-filed by client himself

Any one can help on this issue??

The system does not let me submit the amendment, error message pop up saying I have not yet submit the original tax return and amendment can only be submitted after the original filing has been accepted.

Is there any way I can force the submit ion?

What year are you trying to amend, as ProSeries will only let you efile a 2020 amended return that you did not prepare and efile the original. All other years for an amended return that you did not do, you have to mail in

I ends up call in and with help on phone, I got it done!!

Right way to do this is after enter everything to match the file exactly as what was filed original tax return, I save and create another file with different file name and work on the amendment as what we do normally. Remember to check mark the "e-file" for the Amended tax return and also check mark the "file has been filed by others"!!
