Amended Returns

For amended returns, the system is showing the changes before I can select the amended status for state and federal.

 

Or if I select amended federal right away, it already makes the changes to my state returns?  This is a tedious exercise to back the numbers out as many taxpayers file in several states.

If this is for UI, IRS says dont amend the federal, they'll fix it...if its a state amended, and it has to be filed on paper, you can just use override to fill in the original numbers....if youre lucky enough to be in the few states that you can Efile the amended returns, your options may be limited.

If you're amending ins for some other reason Id wait for the IRS to make the UI correction and issue your client the refund, then your original figures will be correct.
