I end up with this situation 3 times rejection. Do I have to wait on February 3rd to see what the real reason is?

Description of error:
Schedule A (Form 1040), 'Total Charitable Contri Amt' must be equal to the sum of the following: 'Gifts By Cash Or Check Amt' and 'Other Than By Cash Or Check Amt' and 'Carryover From Prior Year Amt'.

What needs to be done:
This return cannot be electronically filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 3, 2022. On or after February 3, 2022 open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing. If you do not want to wait until the specified date, you will need to print and file this return by mail.

Looks like it tells you to wait until Feb 3rd for this to be fixed.

Is it a technical error issue though? I did put all information correctly to make sure there are no errors on sight unless I have to go back and check 😓

Its an odd message, if it all looks right on your screen and when you run through Review nothing pops in the diagnostics, its gotta be a conflict between IRS and Intuit.

I am getting the same rejects.  This was not happening yesterday.  That means almost none of my work can't be submitted until Feb 3!

@1569  can you find out anything about this rejection that just started?

I have spoken to a few other preparers who do not use Pro-Series.  They are not having the same problem.  I think this is a proseries error.  It needs to be fixed NOW!

For it to show a date that it will be fixed, Id guess its a conflict between IRS and Intuit.

I just spent over an hour with tech support about this issue. After doing a 'refresh update' from the 'Update' tab, the issue still isn't fixed.

If this issue has to remain unresolved for 6 days, I'm not sure how you guys feel about it, but I am outraged that Pro-series isn't understanding the ramifications this has on our businesses:

no revenue, delayed returns, disgruntle clients....oh and NO REVENUE.

Again, this is completely unacceptable and should be resolved IMMEDIATELY. We pay for the best and, therefore, we should not be losing clients to subpar competition from yet another bug with this software at the start of the season.

Welcome to ProSeries.  Their program for this year is the worst yet and there has been some really bad ones.  I am twenty year plus user but this year will be the end.  Why pay $4K plus for a program that is never ready or fully functional.

Their general MO is to let you think the problem is the IRS, State agencies, and/or your machine.  They never stand up and admit it's there lack of preparation or problem.

i'm getting the same error spoke to a specialist in the live chat and she told me to wait until feb 10 for the resolve and i want to file now because this is happening to both me and my fiancé's tax returns we are afraid that his ex will file the kids before we do since we have domiciliary custody of them and maintain them 100% i'm wondering will she be able to file them since we are being rejected

The resolution is the following:

If you have Charitable contributions limited (Schedule A, line 14), lower the total Charitable amounts until it is not limited.  Re-save and e-file.  Problem solved!

Also: Shout out to Derrick in Tech who solved this problem when NO ONE ELSE  was able to notice it.

I got an answer to the same from someone else.

Seems its not a widespread unless you have the limitation. I feared the reject was a larger problem. Whew!!

Thanks for checking back and explaining fix.

I just checked yesterday, the fix has been bumped to 18 Feb now.  Very disappointing.  I filed early to beat the rush, and now I am waiting for a solution that keeps moving to the right.
