Admin Computer for Network Installation

Does anyone have a separate computer on their network just as the Admin computer?  Is this necessary?  Our admin partners computer is a few years old and Im thinking it might be better if we just get a new computer to handle the updates etc?

We are network and my daily computer is the one listed as the admin for proseries. It doesn't need it's own computer.
