Previously when entering on the worksheet I could select short term or long term & proseries would not require specific dates but this year it does require a purchase & sell date and I am finding some of the form 1099-B forms only provide a sell date & whether short or long term transactions, how can I avoid errors on input?

You can use the letter code at the front of the entry line A/B for short term covered/noncovered, D/E for long term covered/noncovered but it still prompts for a date of sale, I just grab a sale date from one of the transactions, you can use V- Various for purchase dates.

I believe its a glitch that should be fixed at some point.
