User Access Fee

Like many here I received the email regarding the User Access fee starting for the 2024 tax year.

The question I have is that since the per return fee we already pay includes things like e-filing and printing of returns, now that we'll have to pay an annual fee to access these features has anyone seen any information on whether Intuit would decrease the per return fees (I'm assuming they'll keep those flat or increase them too but can't seem to get a hold of them)?

And I'm not looking for a snippy answer telling me if the user fee is going to harm my business then I don't know how to run my business like I've seen in another post here.  I actually use ProConnect for personal purposes, not for my firm/business, due to complexities with my family's various returns and my firm's software is far too advanced/expensive for what we need but we have more complex filings than TurboTax can handle.

"has anyone seen any information on whether Intuit would decrease the per return fees"

That is the funniest thing I have seen this week.  The word decrease isn't in Intuit's dictionary.

Because that person brought it up: "our small business is losing money"

It's not unusual to respond to what someone includes in their posting. It's not unusual for people to hesitate to increase their rates when their costs have increased. If everyone is fearful of raising rates due to competition, then no one is getting a reasonable rate.

Using a business tool for personal means you are subject to business strategies. That's no surprise.

If I'm in charge of Intuit pricing, I am going to read your post and say to myself, "we've got this guy just where we want him."
