How do I correct a rejected return due to a missing Identity Protection PIN?

All returns are locked after e-filing. Is there a way to enter the IP PIN and resubmit or do I have to enter the number, print, sign, and mail?

If the return has been efiled and accepted, you are done. It is too late to enter the IPPIN.

IF the return is rejected by IRS, then it is time to enter the IPPIN and submit again.

If accepted, the taxpayer MAY be contacted about identity.

An amended return is not appropriate.

Here's wishing you many Happy Returns
