Question

Corrupt Company!!! Intuit changed my EIN# without my knowledge

I discovered my EIN# was incorrect after doing HUNDREDS of tax returns. Found out that Intuit updated it from QuickBooks and that they had it incorrect in QuickBooks. They also signed me up for payroll and EFTPS on QuickBooks with a made up EIN# and had me locked out of changing it. I have NEVER ran payroll through there nor did I sign anything giving them permission to sign me up for payroll or payroll taxes. The AUDACITY of this company to do whatever they want is outrageous! It’s no wonder the BBB score is a D-! Now the information that I  have been submitted to the IRS is wrong and it’s Intuit’s fault!

I’m gonna guess that it isn’t a made up number but probably one of your client’s EIN numbers or some other user in the QB universe.

As a side note, thanks for making me smile.  I have never looked up the BBB score for anybody but I did get a chuckle seeing that Intuit didn’t quite make the dean’s list with that grade.

Hi @hbaldwin thanks for posting in the Community and for sharing the details here. We understand how concerning it can be to discover unexpected information associated with your account, especially when it may impact your tax filings.

Since the concerns you’ve described relate to QuickBooks and require access to account-specific information, we’re unable to assist with this here in the ProConnect Tax Community.

We encourage you to contact QuickBooks directly so the appropriate team can review your account details and help determine the next steps.

I have already rectified the issue… until Intuit, Proconnect, QBO… whoever decides to start messing it up again. The BS thing is I had to provide my EIN Letter from the IRS along with my EFIN number and all my other documentation to PROCONNECT to have an account but you feel justified updating all of that information through another software that may or may not actually be tied to my accounts. The only thing tying the two is the email that I use.  Proconnect is not innocent in this. The whole corporation is corrupt.
