If several lines of stock transactions have been entered in Form 8949, can you insert a line in between?

I entered at the end the missing line and saw in Form 8949, it did not resort it based on the Date of Sale as I had expected.

No. Actually I seldom do much detail on 8949, since most transactions are covered and can go straight to Schedule D.

Answers are easy. Questions are hard!

Thank you for replying.  I understand.  There were lines entered by an assistant and then when I checked, 1 line was missing somewhere in the middle.  I previously used ProSeries where it would let me add a line wherever I wanted it.  Miss that feature. Yes, agreed that it is better to enter high level info wherever possible for Schedule D.  In this case 15 lines of sale transactions and the Cost Basis Not Reported to IRS.

Have you ever tried to insert a line? I know we can do that in Pro Series.

{right click} Ctrl I (in Pro Series).
