ALIMONY?

Client retired in 2019.   He has to make monthly payments from his pension to divorced spouse.   Are these payments considered Alimony?

What does the divorce agreement/property settlement agreement say?

When was the divorce finalized?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

    Why isn't the pension already split when distributed?

    Were there payments of some sort prior to the pension?
