I'm on the latest version (40-1210) of Lacerte 2019.
I just tried creating a new client, and it wouldn't proforma to 2020. I get a Bridge Exception - "Invalid Format." All it had was a name, address, and SSN - but still no luck. No special characters.
So I tried a new test client in Lacerte 2019 - just a first and last name and all-9's for SSN. Same result - Invalid Format.
Did Proforma break in the latest version of Lacerte 2019?

Sorta.
P.S. I think it is way too early to be transferring. Do a few to use for tax planning. Do your own to get used to the program. Wait until Mid January, or when the first client bugs you and just transfer as you need them. These first few issue of 2019 proforma and 2020 tax are just way too buggy to expend much energy on.

I'm on version 41.0102 and it still has the Bridge Exception error. What's the solution?
I am on version 41.101 in TY2020 but it tells me it is the latest version?!
Current is 41.0204 - Tools > Update > tell it to update anyway OR even better use windows to run 2020 Lacerte Web Setup and do a nice neat install again. It will not affect data.
I just downloaded the 2020 program again. It says it is version 41.0121 and that no new updates are available. If I try to reapply updates, I get an error message "An error occured during re-installation. Please try again."
I am able to proforma the clients from 2019 now but I am concerned about the version number.
@BBender Try the new Lacerte Tool Hub https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/help-articles/help/fix-common-problems-and-errors-with-the-l...
You can use it for both 2019 and 2020. Use the FORCE install
