Client data disappeared

A client's 1040 return was complete. The preparer exited the file then I opened it to send the 8879 and all the information is gone. Any suggestions

Does Lacerte give the open to save or not on exit?
I know ProSeries does and Ive clicked the wrong choice a time or two and lost all my work!
