I have a return where the program is taking the standard deduction instead of the itemized deductions, which are much higher. I have not put in any overrides. Would somebody be able to help with this one?

Did you check the box for the $300 above the line deduction?  If so, it will force the standard deduction. You only get one or the other: $300 with standard deduction OR Schedule A.  This is the only thing I can think of now.

    Thank you so much, that was it. I did check that box, not understanding that it would force the standard deduction.
