Multiple States

Hello Community

I was wondering if any tax professional have a procedure when preparing a tax return with multiple states (40) and the tax program can not handle the processing. With every input the program either crashes or takes fives minutes to calculate. 

We were thinking of splitting the tax return using ten states at a time

You could do that.

You could increase your system memory.

Try shutting down the computer. Reboot. Open Lacerte first. Sometimes that clears the cobwebs.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
