Question

How do I clear a Lacerte error for e-filing Form 4720?

I receive what looks like a Lacerte software error when trying to e-file Form 4720. Is there a workaround to this? IRS mandates that Form 4720 be e-filed.

I had difficulty e-filing this form from the Exempt Org module till about September. It finally went through. Are you getting a program processing error or an IRS reject?

At first, we were getting a software program error. I finally spoke with someone at Lacerte and it was a glitch in the software because I had "Notes." Once I deleted the "Notes" (which was only needed for the 990-PF), I was able to e-file, but now I have an IRS rejection.

FEDERAL Filing Rejected - This filing was rejected by the taxing agency on November 05, 2021. You need to fix errors that caused the rejection before it can be accepted by the agency. Follow these instructions for fixing the errors and you can transmit again at no additional charge.
Reject: Error F4720-026: If Form 4720, 'TotalUndistributedIncomeCYAmt' in 'IRS4720ScheduleB' has a value greater than zero, then [ 'CorrectiveActionTakenSchBGrp' or 'NoCorrectionMadeGrp' ] in [CorrectiveActionTakenStatement] must have a value.

Interesting. I had a reject with something similar about Schedule B in July. There must have been an update between July and September that cleared my issue. Do you have any amounts on Part I, Line 1 or any amount on Line 1, 2 or 3 of Schedule B? Also, do you know how to view an efile? There may be a clue in the Payload section.
