Data theft and fraudulent return practices - PTIN account
I had a different and unknown user appear in my intuit account so I called tech support. She thought there could have data theft.
Do you have any tip or practice to share to identify and/or prevent possible data or PTIN theft?
This time of year is when fraudulent returns get filed right? With that in mind, I decided to check my PTIN account to see if there were returns filed. My PTIN account in the snip below shows that the 2022 processing year is not posted yet. My PTIN account says "as of 1/11/2022" so it seems the IRS has not caught up with this filing season.
