The following diagnostic is generating:

When the amount of tax computed (after credits applied) is less than or equal to the total tax payments made, then the amount on the lines for tax due, penalties and interest should be zero or blank on the form.

Solution:

Diagnostic Trigger

This diagnostic generates when the return has Tax Due, penalties, or interest while there is also an overpayment.

How to Remove Penalties and Interest

  1. Go to Screen 8 – Penalties and Interest.
  2. Scroll to the Late Return Penalty & Interest section.
  3. Remove any NC entries from this section.

We are getting this same diagnostic.  Any ideas?

I have the same issue.  Were you able to get it resolved or did you just paper file the NC amendment?
