The following diagnostic is generating:

The beginning and ending dates for the physical presence test are overridden. Based on the information entered in the "Travel Information" section, the qualifying period entered via the overrides is not as beneficial as the program calculated qualifying period.

Solution:

This means that although you manually entered override dates for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (Form 2555), Lacerte determined that its automatically calculated qualifying period (based on travel details) would result in a better exclusion amount. You may want to review your override to ensure it maximizes the benefit.

I think it auto populates to 330 days.

Let the software compute the optimal period based on the days in and out of the US that you enetered.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
